ABOUT BECOMING A PLEDGE MEMBER
What is the difference between a
donation and a pledge?
A
donation is a one time gift to the Mission Centre. A pledge is a
promise to donate a certain amount of money over a certain amount of
time...eg $20 a month.
Why would I want to make a pledge
instead of a donation?
Although
all gifts are very welcome, pledges help us plan ahead. If we know what
our income will be ahead of time, we can create a budget and use your
donations strategically. It also provides security to projects that we
support on an ongoing basis.
If I decide to become a pledge
donor, how will I pay for my pledge donations?
Currently
MMC only accepts pledge donations using Mastercard or Visa.
How often do I have to give
money if I am a pledge donor?
It
is up to you. Pledge intervals can be monthly, quarterly, half-yearly,
yearly or every second month.
How am I receipted?
Receipts are sent out at the end of
the financial year (end of June - beginning of July) for the total
amount donated to MMC in that financial year so there is no need to
keep track of multiple reciepts for the year.
Is my donation tax deductible?
All pledges to AMCOA and any
designated pledges are tax deductible. MFIM pledges are NOT tax
deductible.
What is a designated pledge?
A designated pledge is when you choose
which project your money is put towards/how your money is used: eg Mr X
donates $50 a month to go to the Kasiglahan Foundation in the
Phillippines.
How do I apply?
First download our pledge form which
is in .doc format. You can then fill out the form by typing in the
document before sending it to us in an email to this address: donations@maristmissions.com. Alternatively, you can print the form
and fill it out by hand then send it to us via post or fax. (see
post/fax details on donations page).
