With
the broader frame of "education for all" this project specifically
deals with:
- Teacher
training to build capacity for community teachers. These teachers have
been recruited by Jesuit Service to teach in mini schools in remote
villages of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Here the population has been
dreamatically affected by mine or remnants of war or where the Khmer
Rouge remained until 1999, eradicating the whole education system.
Trained teachers prefer not to venture into these difficult
areas.
- Resourcing
mobile libraries in villages where there is no school is a way in whih
JS raises the literacy capacity of a community, thus developing
awareness of social and health issues within that community. We believe
Education in these areas is a positive step towards alleviating poverty
and illiteracy.
