AUSTRALIAN MARIST CENTRE FOR OVERSEAS AID

AMCOA PROJECTS


The Australian Marist Centre for Overseas Aid is a central part of the MMC, existing to support third world poverty alleviation, development projects and needy persons principally in Third World countries; in particular to women, children and the handicapped. Donations to AMCOA are tax deductable.  AMCOA supports projects in the Asia Pacific region including but not limited to:

Marists of Ranong (Thailand)
The newest mission of the Marist Fathers addresses the needs of Burmese migrant workers at Ranong in the south of Thailand

Karen Mission (Thai Burma Border)
There are three boarding hostels of Marist Mission Centre, Australia in Maela Camp, Maera Moo Refugee Camp and Meala Oon Refugee Camp respectively.

YODIFEE (Thailand)
Youth with Disabilities Foundation for Education and Employment, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.


Guangzhou Huiling (China)
Huiling is a non-government, non-profit, grass-roots organization founded in 1990 for young people with mental disabilities.



Human Development Program (Bangladesh)
The Human Development Program aims to alleviate poverty by reducing the unemployment problems of Bangladesh.



Metta Karuna Education Program (Cambodia)
An education program in remote regions of Cambodia run by Jesuit Service.


Beijing Huiling (China)
The following 20 years 8 Huilings have been opened in eight different cities in China, and 3 new Huilings are on the way. Beijing huiling began in the year 2000 after the success of the first Huiling operation in Guangzhou.

Sarnelli House (Thailand)
An orphanage in Nongkhai, Thailand for abandoned children and children with HIV / AIDS.


Media Watch (Fiji)
As a civic society organisation, the aim of Media Watch is to create a media literate public so that the people of Fiji might gain maximum benefit from use of modern media while offsetting their negative effects.
